Creekside, Tuesday 16th August

It was cold, wet and rainy when I arrived and felt very autumnal.  The tide was right out.  No sign of the swans or herons though there were starlings and pigeons having a very cold bath in the shallow water.  The wind made sudden ruffles on the surface of the water like giant brushmarks.  The pungent scent has completely gone from the Angelica which is very dry and brown.  I was very glad to be wearing a waterproof coat. Windy.
