He says “My meat is to do the will of him that sent me”  Likewise it was to him in ye place of sleep: for we read, that He spent whole nights  in prayer: that in the day he was teaching in the Temple: & at night went out & abode in the mount of Olives, namely at his supplications, & devotions.  & Luke 12: 50. he says: “I have a baptism to be baptised with: & how am I streight’end till it be accomplished”!  He was not, we are told, without great terrors of that severe, bloody tryal; yet was so resolved to fulfill the will of God therein, that he was in pain until it was accomplished, thinking the time long till it came to be undertaken, & finished.
From what has been said upon this point we have sufficient reason to be satisfyed, that our Passions are not, as some have, & do fancy, the depravity & corruption of our nature;  not what it is at our liberty to put off when we will; as by the help of God we may our evil Custom, which we have contracted: — but that they are ye
